What do I do if I need to cancel a meal?
Please contact the Meals on Wheels Service as soon as possible to let us know that you need to cancel a meal, and, if possible, the length of time you wish to cancel.
If meals are not cancelled before 9.30am on the day of delivery they will still incur a charge.
We can restart you at any stage, with just a quick phone call. We understand that sometimes coming home from respite, or hospital care, can be at short notice and we can respond, even the same day, to ensure your needs are met for when you return home.
How will I pay for my meal?
At the beginning of each month you will receive a bill for the previous month’s meals. Alternatively, you can choose to pay on a daily, or weekly basis.
Your payment will be required within 7 days of the date of the Invoice.
Methods of Payment:
- By cheque (made payable to Care4all)
- By card over the telephone
- By bank transfer
- Online through our website
We can also arrange for bills to be sent to a family member, or corporate appointee.
How much notice do I have to give to set meals up?
If you call before 10.00 am we cans deliver a meal the same day, however in an emergency we will ensure someone receives something to eat that day whenever you contact us.
Do I have to have meals 7 days a week?
No, you can choose how many days you want to receive a meal.
How do I pay for the meals?
You can pay by cheque to the driver or by post. Alternatively you may call the office and pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer. This can be done daily, weekly or monthly.
Can I choose what meals I have delivered?
Yes, we have a 4 week menu plan but you can personalise your own menu to suit your taste or your dietary requirements.
What if I need to go out and will not be in to receive my dinner?
If you call the office before 09.30 am we can suspend your meal that day and you will not be charged for it.
Can I have extra meals delivered if I have guests visiting?
Yes, we are happy to add additional meals for your guests and they do not have to have the same meal as you, they can choose their own meal.
Can you provide assistance to dish the meals up?
Yes, our drivers are happy to dish up your meal, set and help you to the table, or bring the meal to you on a tray. They can also make a hot or cold drink and remind you to take your medication.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, there is no contract, you can stop the deliveries at any point without a notice period.
I am due to have an operation and may need meals for just a couple of weeks whilst I recuperate, is this possible?
Yes, we are happy to provide meals for a short term period until you are fully recovered
Is there a minimum age requirement to receive your service?
No, our service is open to anyone and is not based on age or ability
Will my meal be delivered at the same time every day?
We try to stick to regular delivery times however, sometimes road closures and bad weather can cause delays, we will always contact you and keep you informed.
Do you deliver on bank holidays as well?
Yes, our service operates 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
I am not able to answer the door for the delivery driver, how will I manage?
If you have a key safe and allow our driver access, they can let themselves in. The driver will secure your home before they leave. If you don’t have a key safe we can provide this and a fitting service (see ‘extra services’ on our website).
I worry about strangers coming into my home.
All our staff undergo enhanced police checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service and we seek references prior to their employment, this ensures we only employ people of the highest standard.
