Living our Lives is a supported living service for people with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues; the service enables people to live the life they want, in a home which is chosen by them, in the community of their choice.
People who access the service are usually allocated what is known as an Individual Service Fund to pay for their care and support; however the service can also be funded in other ways that we can tell you about. An Individual Service Fund enables a person to have their chosen support when they want it and from staff who know them well.
This approach to support allows people to have more control over their lives as staff are flexible and ensure that the person can enjoy the best life possible, including accessing learning and vocational opportunities and socialising with friends and family.

We work with the person, their family, other people who are important to them and professionals including social workers, to ensure that the person receives the right care and support to meet their needs, wishes and aspirations.

Whenever possible, the person and their family can be involved in the recruitment of the staff team and when appropriate the choice of where to live.
We also ensure that the person and their family are involved in the development of the support plan; this ensures that care and support are delivered in the way that the person needs and wants. Support plans are reviewed regularly to take into account any changes to individuals’ needs and wishes.
We are very proud of Living our Lives and believe that we enable people to enjoy good lives supported by staff who value, know and understand them.
