Of course, every week has some positive moments but this week, there have been a couple of definite highlights which are worthy of sharing with a wider audience apart from my long suffering family and friends…………….
Every month I wait with baited breath to find out how our wonderful Meals on Wheels service has performed and as usual I received this information from our Meals on Wheels Coordinator and…… (drum roll)……. in April we delivered 5096 meals to 330 different customers! Now, I have to say, by anybodies standards that is good going, but for a service that receives no local authority or grant funding, it is outstanding! In many parts of the country community meals services have dwindled and died but Care4all’s Meals on Wheels service continues to buck the trend and just keeps getting bigger and better. We are starting to dream of a second kitchen elsewhere so you never know……..
The second highlight is also a pretty impressive one – Living our Lives, our Supported Living Service has been shortlisted in not one, not two but a splendid three categories of the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards! Four of the team will be going suited and booted to the ICC in Birmingham next Thursday to try and impress the judges, so good luck – I know that you will do Care4all proud!
